Sonja Smith –  Founder, Creative Business ‘Copper Tree

Designing Her Own Success

I was in a job for 7 years, where I was desperately unhappy for the later part. Unmotivated, devalued and incredibly frustrated and uninspired. I had wandered so far off my true path. Two and a half years on from taking redundancy, I am happy to say I have found my way back, and I am very busy ‘designing my own success’. I would love to share my experiences with you, in a hope that it will steer people from taking the wrong path, or maybe show them it is actually ok to stop and think about what you want or don’t want, listening to what your instinct is telling you.

Today, I know who I am and what I want and it is fabulous place to be. A long way from the shy, self-conscious 18 year old heading off to UCD all those years ago to do a course I did not want to do.

Today, I am a cog in a busy family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. I am founder of my own creative business ‘Copper Tree’, and as photography is my driving force for this project, I am intending on completing an MA of Fine Arts in Photography over the next 2 years. I am so proud to say I am designing my own success.
